Record Sealing Bill And Earned Time Bill Signed
Yesterday Governor Ritter signed both the Record Sealing Bill (HB 1082) and the Earned Time Bill (HB 1382).
This is a wonderful end to the legislative session for CCJRC. The Record Sealing Bill was not as far reaching as we had originally charted our course for. But it is a beginning.
The Earned Time Bill will allow people who have been reparoled to receive earned time of up to 10 days a month.
We want to thank all of you who called, emailed, testified, wrote letters to the editor and to their legislators. Our deepest thanks also goes out to the bill sponsors - Rep. Mark Ferrandino and Sen. Bob Bacon for HB 1082 and to Rep. Terrrance Carroll and Sen Brandon Shaffer on HB 1382.
And of course, to Maureen Cain from the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar for her tireless work on both of these bills.

In the Littleton Municipal Court house only one person has had their records sealed since it was opened.I feel that records for misdameanors should be sealed for people to get jobs,Apartments.This court house leaves people no other choice but to go thru the Highest Court and request their records to be sealed.Which Im going to do.Worse case have a name change and request a new Social Security Number!
