Former Jeffco DA Starts Defense Practice

Former Jefferson County district attorney Dave Thomas announced today that he is going into private practice.

Thomas most recently was executive director of the Colorado District Attorneys Council. Thomas also ran unsuccessful campaigns for Congress and was just elected to serve on the Jefferson County School Board.

He was district attorney in Jefferson County for 12 years before leaving office in 2005 due to term limits.

Thomas and defense attorney Maureen O'Brien are partners in the new law firm. O'Brien is president-elect of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar.
