More Time Needed On Masters Investigation
Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck needs additional time to investigate allegations that Fort Collins police officer Jim Broderick violated the law when he assembled the now-vacated murder case against Tim Masters. Previously, Buck had planned to disclose his findings last week, but more interviews and research into new leads are required before reaching a decision to prosecute Broderick, his office announced Friday. "We have been unable to interview a key witness in this investigation," according to a press statement that stated it could be at least three weeks before the source is available for questioning. "We feel that in order to fulfill our duty of conducting a thorough investigation into this case, this individual must be interviewed ..."
