Who is the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition?

Our mission is to reverse the trend of mass incarceration in Colorado. We are a coalition of nearly 7,000 individual members and over 100 faith and community organizations who have united to stop perpetual prison expansion in Colorado through policy and sentence reform.

Our chief areas of interest include drug policy reform, women in prison, racial injustice, the impact of incarceration on children and families, the problems associated with re-entry and stopping the practice of using private prisons in our state.

Good Morning Tuesday

Welcome to the new continuously updating "Think Outside the Cage".

My hope it to keep the general public updated on the ongoing, fast track world of "what the heck is going on" in regards to crimianl justice in Colorado. Since Colorado is not an island, I will endeavor to serve up important items from across the country when they cross my path. Today's tidbits include an editorial from last weeks Rocky Mountain News and an article on the need for sentence reform that appeared in the New York Times. In the future we will also include articles guest writers that I believe you will enjoy.

There are links to great organizations and other blogosphere type stuff that we have found to be informative, funny, intelligent and on the mark.

Please enjoy.
