Michael Andre's Death Ruled A Suicide

DENVER - The investigative report of the February 23 death of attorney Michael Andre states: "Mr. Andre was responsible for his death. The case will be carried as 'unfounded' as to a crime."
Andre barricaded himself in his home in a 10-hour standoff. Autopsy reports indicated he killed himself. The criminal report 9NEWS obtained by Denver Police confirms that his death was suicide.
Police were originally contacted by Deputy District Attorney Kerry Lombardi, who had received a message from Michael Andre threatening suicide. A second call came in to police after a housekeeper in the home told police Andre threatened her with a gun and told her to leave the home.
According to the report, Andre had personal and financial problems. The report details more than $4,000 in cash and several weapons and live rounds of ammunition were found in the house. Andre phoned police and asked to talk with his wife. She talked with him once. The police entered the home by firing gas grenades into the upstairs, main floor and basement of the home. Andre's body was found in a bedroom with one shot through his mouth.
Michael Andre was well-known as the attorney for one of the suspects in the killing of Denver Broncos' cornerback Darrent Williams, 25-year old Willie Clark.
