Who is the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition?

Our mission is to reverse the trend of mass incarceration in Colorado. We are a coalition of nearly 7,000 individual members and over 100 faith and community organizations who have united to stop perpetual prison expansion in Colorado through policy and sentence reform.

Our chief areas of interest include drug policy reform, women in prison, racial injustice, the impact of incarceration on children and families, the problems associated with re-entry and stopping the practice of using private prisons in our state.

Morgan Carroll Running For Senate

This morning Rep. Morgan Carroll (D-Aurora) announced at her townhall meeting in Aurora that she running for Colorado Senate (District 29) in 2008.

Rep. Carroll was first elected to Colorado’s House District 36 in 2004 and began her first legislative term in 2005. In less than 4 years, she was able to serve as Vice-Chair of the Judiciary Committee, on the Business Affairs and Labor Committee, on the Interim Committee on Auto Insurance, the Legal Services Committee and the Legislative Council Committee. She was also elected to Leadership in the House this year as Majority Caucus Chair.
