Aspen Fires Officer For Alcohol Abuse
ASPEN, Colo. — The Aspen Police Department says they fired an officer after he was suspected of being at work after drinking alcohol. Assistant Police Chief Bill Linn says the department is "heartbroken" and that there have "been an awful lot of tears flowing" since 18-year police veteran Jim Crowley was fired Friday. Linn says he smelled alcohol on Crowley's breath when he arrived at work Thursday morning. Police say a Breathalyzer test showed Crowley's blood-alcohol level at .063. Police say Crowley was arrested and later released from jail. He is being investigated for allegedly driving while ability impaired and prohibited possession of a weapon because is suspected of having his gun after drinking alcohol.

So, Crowleys blood alcohol level was .063. According to law he was sober. The article says he was arrested??? For what? I would like to no the rest of the story? djw
