Who is the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition?

Our mission is to reverse the trend of mass incarceration in Colorado. We are a coalition of nearly 7,000 individual members and over 100 faith and community organizations who have united to stop perpetual prison expansion in Colorado through policy and sentence reform.

Our chief areas of interest include drug policy reform, women in prison, racial injustice, the impact of incarceration on children and families, the problems associated with re-entry and stopping the practice of using private prisons in our state.

First Plea Deal in Damm Murder

Boulder -- One of four teens charged in connection with the death of Lafayette woman pleaded guilty today.

Under the plea agreement, Jared Smith, 16, will serve two years in the Department of Youth Corrections followed by six months mandatory parole. He pleaded guilty to one count of being an accessory to a crime, a felony.

Damm's daughter, 15-year-old Tess Damm, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder in the case. Her boyfriend, Bryan Grove, 17, is charged with murder.
