Who is the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition?

Our mission is to reverse the trend of mass incarceration in Colorado. We are a coalition of nearly 7,000 individual members and over 100 faith and community organizations who have united to stop perpetual prison expansion in Colorado through policy and sentence reform.

Our chief areas of interest include drug policy reform, women in prison, racial injustice, the impact of incarceration on children and families, the problems associated with re-entry and stopping the practice of using private prisons in our state.

Parolee Voting

SB 83 is an election reform bill that also would allow people on parole to vote.
SB 83 will be voted on in the full Senate tomorrow (Weds)
AND the PAROLEE VOTING PROVISION IS IN TROUBLE.

Due to pressure from some county clerks, three Democratic Senators
have changed their vote and are no longer supporting parolee voting,
despite the fact that they have voted twice in the past to support parolee voting.

All the Republican Senators have come out in opposition to parolee voting,
so losing these three Democratic Senators means that either SB 83 will die outright
or parolee voting will be stripped out of the bill so that the rest of election reforms will pass.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

Please contact the following Senators and let them know that giving people
on parole the right to vote is important and helps people to successfully re-integrate back into society.
